Guide internal and external customers to plastic material selections, robust product designs and mold designs using 3D CAD solid modeling Creo 9, Solidworks, and Moldflow analysis. Apply project management tools such as DFM, FMEA, and APQP. Develop cost-effective mold designs, manage project milestones, tool building, and qualification. Troubleshoot, modify, and repair existing injection tools to meet customer requirements including product reliability.

Provided component design support (DFM) for the design team, led design reviews with suppliers and tool builders, and supported purchasing with supplier development activities, budget planning, evaluation of quotations and contracts, and identification of cost-saving opportunities. Created an improved RFQ process for the purchase of injection tools. Developed cost effective design solutions for new and existing plastic parts and injection molds using Unigraphics NX and Autodesk Moldflow.

Developed custom child-resistant closure systems according to customer needs for pharmaceutical and medical applications. Managed projects and customer communication with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Visio, and Powerpoint. Created design concepts using Pro/Engineer Wildfire 2.0 and PLM.
