JASON KERRISON - A BRIEF BIO Invercargill born, Christchurch raised and now primarily Auckland domiciled, Jason Kerrison is a multi-award winning Singer, Songwriter, Producer and Entrepreneur. With his band OPSHOP, Jason has enjoyed many years at the forefront of New Zealand Music, enjoying not only massive commercial success, but also picking up numerous New Zealand Music Awards and the prestigious APRA Silver Scroll Song Writing Award along the way. Jason is also an integral piece of The Babysitters Circus puzzle, a group of musical friends that initially came together to simply have fun exploring all manner of musical experimentation, and what started as a great way to spend a Thursday night has now resulted in multi-platinum sales and a strong following in both New Zealand and Europe. His unswerving commitment and dedication to his craft, and his empathy towards the plight of his home town of Christchurch, saw Jason being made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to Music in the 2011 Queen's Birthday Honours List. This honour was attributed in part to the recognition of Jason’s drive in bringing to fruition Band Together for Canterbury, a free concert incorporating thirty four artists and attended by a reported 160,000 people as a gift for the Earthquake stricken people of the Region. Not one to sit still, Jason accepted an offer to be a member of the Judging Panel for the television show New Zealand’s Got Talent in 2012, and reprised this role for the 2013 version of the massive hit show.
