Develop programs for youth and adults to more involved with the Hames mission to increase community health. As a volunteer run organization a primary responsibility is to continuously recruit volunteers and train volunteers while building activities and responsibilities that ensure long term volunteer retention.Assist general duties of the Hames Center including opening and closing tasks, general maintenance, assisting with any activities as need along with front desk coverage.Write weekly newsletters, prepare PA's and routinely update the website

Lead university students from South Korea and Japan in cultural activities with an emphasis on conversational English. Student group sizes range from 8 to 20. I work as part of an immersion program directed to assist students wishing to work overseas to become more comfortable living and working in a foreign country. I am responsible for day to day activities ranging from assisting with living situations to driving them to Seattle to organizing meetings with Portland professionals.

Assist the program coordinator in planning and implementing projects for youth and families.

Lead students in a variety of team sports and group activities at the Schools Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN) programs. Teach a diverse range of at risk student’s good sportsmanship and camaraderie. Teach daily homework and science courses as a supplement to the students primary teachers coursework, while working with staff on a weekly basis to improve curriculum and individual attention in response to the student’s required needs.

Taught English as a foreign language (subject areas include phonics, reading, writing, listening, speaking, with emphasis on conversation) to students Grade K-12. Requirements included creating lesson plans, tests, assigning coursework, correcting homework, making quarterly report cards, and facilitating speech contests for students to improve public speaking confidence and ability.

Coordinated and managed all aspects of volunteer events, including Earth Day and National Make A Difference Day. Recruited and led volunteers from local high schools and colleges to restore the Salmon Creek watershed via various activities including tree planting and maintenance.
