How does a biologist find their way into operations? Reflecting on my journey, I see how my roots in biology naturally led me to a leadership role in operations. Biology is about observing and understanding the cooperative mechanisms fundamental to life. Starting out in a lab at a cheese manufacturing plant, I noticed parallels between cellular cooperation and organizational dynamics. Watching how individuals and processes synergize sparked my passion for enhancing processes, driving continuous improvement, and fostering collaboration across teams.My biology background has been invaluable in my operations leadership roles. Trained in applying the scientific method to problem-solving, I excel at observing and analyzing systems, processes, and human behaviors. This allows me to understand individuals and groups deeply and apply that knowledge to help achieve extraordinary results.With over two decades in operations and supply chain leadership, I have led and supported various teams and projects, fostering a culture of engagement and fulfillment. This has resulted in tangible business success and the highest-ever employee engagement survey score in the unit’s history.Outside of work, my greatest joys come from being a husband, father, and mentor.
