Oversees the daily workflow of a raw material wholesale and retail operation.• Collaborates directly with ownership on the development of long and short term strategies• Evaluates the effectiveness of daily procedures and establishes new programs for improvement• Provides training and leadership to staff on matters relating to specific job functions • Implemented a new ERP software to improve workflow efficiency and establish higher accuracy of on-hand inventoryManages the sourcing and development of leather, suede, and shearling for Apparel, Handbag, Shoe, Interior Design, Upholstery, and Automotive industries. • Supports Design and Development teams of numerous fashion lifestyle brands • Recommends raw material options that compliment design direction, meet target price requirements, and comply with order specifications. • Researches trends and develops new techniques in tanning and finishing leather • Attends all important leather trade shows in Paris, Milan, and New York and visits tanneries throughout the year to check development and bulk leather orders Supervises the production of all raw material orders • Tracks the volatility of raw material prices and negotiates bulk leather prices with vendors • Manages the WIP report and ensures on time delivery of material• Monitors supplier performance and administer quality control inspections• Develops and maintains strong supplier relations of over 100 tanneries
