On September 26, 2019 Blackstone acquired the U.S. logistics assets from three of GLP’s U.S. funds for a purchase price of $18.7 billion. We issued a catastrophe bond to provide parametric earthquake protection for Blackstone's owned and managed real estate and set up an in house insurance agency.

On February 26, 2015, Global Logistic Properties (GLP) completed the acquisition of one of the largest logistics platforms in the United States for $8.1 billion. The platform formerly known as IndCor Properties, a portfolio company wholly owned by Blackstone since its formation in 2010.The US portfolio grew to over 170 million SF of high quality logistics properties with a diverse customer base across over 30 key markets. GLP also has expansive real estate holdings in China, Japan, Brazil and most recently Europe and India.While supporting the risk and insurance needs of GLP, we created a captive insurance company to provide reinsurance support to GLP and best practices to the portfolio across three continents.

First Industrial Realty Trust, is an owner and operator of industrial real estate and provider of supply chain solutions to multinational corporations and regional customers throughout North America. In my roll with First Industrial, I have responsibilities for all aspects of the corporate insurance and risk management program including Property/Casualty, Executive Risk, Fleet Risk, Loss Control and Business Continuity. Our portfolio consists of over 620 properties and over 63 million square feet.

ST and its affiliates own and manage the former $4.5B Corus Bank construction loan portfolio in partnership with the FDIC. Investors include Starwood Capital, TPG, Perry Capital, Wilbur Ross and Richard LeFrak. Asset types include in excess of 10,000 condo and multi family units with 4 million square feet of office and 1/2 million square feet of retail.
