In my 22 year marine transportation and trade career, I have had the good fortune to receive training and guidance from a diverse group of highly experienced industry leaders. I've been engaged with industry, community, and government through a Port Authority lens, and from a private organizations perspective at Western Stevedoring. Learning cargo handline skills from both the terminal & stevedore management side has provided me with a diverse understanding of the industry and its complexities within Canadas Pacific Gateway. More recently, engaging with Industry, first nation, government and community stakeholders with the Port of Nanaimo has been a welcomed opportunity to positively impact local and national interests.Now in a Vice President role with the Nanaimo Port Authority, bringing visibility to the Ports future potential and integrating its capabilities into Canadas broader supply chain is a privilege. Working with the Chamber of Shipping Ship Island committee, Cruise Industry relations, City of Nanaimo working groups, Provincial and Federal stakeholder relations, project management, transportation logistics, and community working groups have been exceptional learning experiences.
