Jason Morris joined Nordstrom as the chief technology and information officer in 2023 with over 20 years of experience leading large, geographically diverse teams in the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge IT systems. In his role as CTIO, Jason supports the fashion retailer’s technology and data science & analytics teams. Prior to Nordstrom, he led enterprise systems, including people technology modernization, finance tech, associate digital experience (ADE) and shared services for Walmart Global Tech. In that role he was responsible for driving Walmart Global Tech's strategy for providing technology solutions and shared services that are critical for the day-to-day running of the retailer’s business and the digital transformation of its corporate functions. Previously, he was the vice president of customer facing technology which includes point of sale (POS) systems, self-services, health & wellness and specialty departments for Walmart Stores Inc. In that role, Jason was responsible for setting strategic direction, system development and implementation of all hardware and software in more than 10,000 locations across the globe. Before his customer facing technology role, Jason was responsible for technology development for Walmart’s Global Compliance Systems. In this position, Jason acted as the key technology advocate for 10+ corporate business segments including U.S. compliance, international compliance, ethics and emergency operations. Under his leadership, the global compliance team partnered with key business leaders to define and develop an IT portfolio that enables Walmart to proactively address the escalating global compliance landscape. Jason holds a double Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
