- New product development of hydraulic fittings from Voice of Customer to conceptualization to manufacturing- Voice of Customer interviews using New Product Blueprinting- 4 patents filed for new product ideas- Design for manufacturing of CNC-machined, high-pressure components- Additional Role: Site Safety Leader - responsible for building safety for warehouse, lab, and office

– Work with medical device manufacturers to design force and pressure sensors for their products– Sensors developed for infusion pumps, insulin pumps, non-invasive blood pressure systems, etc.– Conceptualize, design, prototype, test, and bring products to production– Introduced SLA 3D-printing to the team to prototype small injection-molded parts and replace expensive machined fixture components– Regularly involved in hands-on prototype assembly and testing in the engineering lab– Sensor designs include PCB layouts, injection molded plastic parts, adhesive joints, machined components, stamped and drawn metal parts, assembly, and integration into customer applications.– Working with diverse cross-disciplinary design teams and manufacturing teams in China and Mexico– Design for Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Green Belt, used tools in design and test data analysis– Design for high and low volume manufacturing, both configurable platform products and custom solutions– Test, calibration, and assembly fixture design for prototype builds and production processes– Typical projects last 6 months to 2 years, and assigned to 3-4 projects at a time

- Conceptualized, designed, assisted in fabrication, and tested mechanical systems and components for suspended scaffolding- Solidworks used daily for design, detailed drawings for manufacturing, and creating conceptual images for customers- Completed safe, durable, and cost-effective projects satisfying unique design constraints with short turnaround- Evaluated and improved designs using finite element analysis, experimental testing, and manufacturability analysis- Communicated and coordinated with customers, project leader, sales, purchasing, and manufacturing- Used creativity, problem solving, and customer input to create or redesign and significantly improve multiple products- Consistently took the initiative to join projects assisting coworkers; initiated projects improving product design and cost
