Collection, Distribution and Processing of Waste Vegetable Oil from Local Restaurants into Transportation Ready Biofuels.

• Managed a $1.8M federal grant to conduct cooperative research with SC recreational and commercial fishermen. • Supervised a team of two field technicians, developed and managed over 40 cooperative research projects that included more than 200 fishermen. • Researched sustainable practices and technologies and developed strategies for their integration into the marine operational strategy. • Instrumental in acquiring the first hybrid vehicle by SCDNR; acquired and promoted sustainable food service products for SCDNR meetings and events. • Named Chairmen of the first SCDNR “Green Committee” 11/07. Completed the first ever infrastructure and transportation energy audits at SCDNR in 2008.• Project manager for a high profile cooperative research project developed in response to the 2004 Grand Strand Flounder Mortality Event; this project utilized remote sensing equipment in the surf zone to relay real time water quality and weather data to a public website.
