Just 5 years ago people visited about 4-5 dealerships before making a vehicle purchase.The auto industry continues to be more digitally driven by our customers than ever before. Our websites have become our virtual showroom, desktop and mobile split (often upwards of 50% mobile). Resulting, is an absolute demand for a digital marking strategy that is developed with technically diverse, expert knowledge and experience. Focusing our attention on customer behavior and expectations then using the most effective marketing tools and resources is key to effective and profitable ROI. There are plenty of pitfalls that can waste budget on services/vendors that are either not savvy enough to trackablility or still prefer to hold reporting capabilities under limited access. Lets face it, data is just data unless its actionable. In order for it to be actionable, data must be readily accessible. The process requires proper tracking methods implemented consistently and a good command of Google Analytics and PPC metrics.I believe in a cohesive marketing message on all media fronts. It is well worth the work and effort. I also believe Marketing and Sales can no longer exist in separate mindsets within the dealership....Marketing and Sales must be aligned in ALL marketing initiates. This methodology takes planning and a skilled team with strengths that compliment one another, rather then compete with each other. It also requires a culture created by strong leadership.I personally challenge myself every day to build that culture and provide good leadership to those who work for me, to build them up. I also work hard to constantly learn and stay in front of Industry news so I am an asset to my colleagues in management.
