I work with the Office of Electronic Services and Systems Integration. I create the requirements for our team of developers so that we can create new functionality for the application underlying every decision the agency issues. My work on the application is essential to ensure ALJ and Attorney users can draft accurate and legally sufficient decisions.

I provide professional legal counsel to Administrative Law Judges and hearing office personnel, to arrive at technically and legally sound decisions. I also serve as the primary resource to advise on the Administration's technical programs, legal and policy issues.I develop resource materials and conduct training on changes to the Social Security law, regulations, rulings, the provisions of class action lawsuits, opinions by the Office of General Counsel, as well as follow-up and supplemental writer training. I review the work of newly hired attorneys and provide feedback on the sufficiency of their legal argument, explanation of the relevant evidence, and support for the findings of the Administrative Law Judge. I also serve as a mentor for junior attorneys.I draft administrative decisions in extremely sensitive and the most legally complex cases. These include class action and court remand cases involving significant policy issues and questions regarding the interpretation of Federal Circuit Court opinions or the application of Acquiescence Rulings.

I drafted legally defensible decisions supported by the evidence, which address all medical and legal aspects of the case. In doing so, I ensured the decisions are consistent with the Social Security Act and with the agency’s regulations, rulings, and policies. Based on instructions from the Administrative Law Judge, I provided the rationale for the findings on the relevant issues and on the ultimate decision in the case.

Exercised due diligence by analyzing the firm’s matters, clients and related parties to prevent current and future conflicts of interest. Taught training courses for new and existing legal assistants on properly submitting new clients and matters through the firm’s intake software.
