I remember the exact moment that I realized I wanted to be a leadership coach. I had been coaching an elite basketball team for years, and after many ups and downs, we finally won the provincial championship. As everyone around me celebrated, I felt… underwhelmed and even a little disappointed that it was over. For me, it wasn’t about the end result… it was about the journey. It was about building up our players, not only as athletes, but as people and leaders.Shortly after that experience, I enrolled in an M.A. in Leadership and launched my own executive and team performance coaching firm. To my surprise, the coaching really took off! Before long, I was hiring a team of coaches to help me facilitate all the training and development contracts that were coming in. The icing on the cake was that I also had a chance to practice what I preach as I developed my own high-performing team. Whether it is in business or in sport, I love to see transformation as people become better versions of themselves, and I absolutely love supporting people on that journey. Enabling someone to believe in themselves and achieve something that they didn’t think was possible is incredibly rewarding and it’s the reason that I do what I do. When I’m not working, you can usually find me spending time with my family, exercising, or both. I love watching my kids compete in sports, traveling with my family, and spending quality time together at home.
