As a Project Manager and Fish Biologist, Jason is involved with the sampling, statistical analysis, and reporting of biological, chemical, and physical data from coastal marine and estuarine sites. He manages projects involving NEPA and ESA documentation, biomonitoring and sampling (especially epifaunal and infaunal surveys), and sediment and water sampling and analysis.

Assisted in invasive plant control efforts and habitat restoration projects in natural areas of north Florida.

Project types included: Imperiled species surveys, wetland delineation and mitigation, and habitat assessments (FL, GA, MS, and AR). Assist in training and management of staff, proposal writing, and budget preparation and tracking.

Identified, curated, and cataloged fishes, assisted in loans of fishes to institutions worldwide. Supervised and trained part-time staff. Archived data in large MS Access database.

Collected and analyzed data on nesting loggerhead sea turtles, stranded sea turtles, and stranded marine mammals; supervised and trained interns; and conducted public outreach. Wrote grant proposals which were awarded a total of $11,000. Regularly operated and maintained ATVs, trucks, trailers, and boats.

Conducted fisheries-independent monitoring of fishes and invertebrates using defined procedures. Regularly operated and maintained trucks, trailers, and mullet skiffs.

Conducted surveys of colonial nesting birds, wading and shore birds, waterfowl, and neotropical migrants.

Conducted interpretive tours of sanctuary, assisted in invasive plant control, surveyed fish diversity within the refuge.

Conducted daily educational programs centering on native Florida flora and fauna, collected live marine (invertebrates, fishes) and terrestrial (snakes, lizards) organisms to stock the Conservancy's living museum exhibits, helped supervise volunteers.
