Self-Employed - Bristol Based - November 2004 to Present Surveying, designing, installing, audit, relocate, testing & labelling of existing, additional and new build of most types of internal and external single/multi-mode fibre optics (splicing or hand polishing), coaxial (BT2002, BT2003, RG59, RG6 & RG11), all 1308 multi-core telephony, category data cabling (5, 5e, 6, 6A, 7, UTP & FTP) in all building types and Campus including Data Centres. Advanced Fibre Testing (Qualification) with some OTDR's and have testing knowledge of Fluke DTX and the new Fluke DSX testers. I can test cabling at manufactures specifications for customer warranty, (Brand Rex, Excel & Systimax {CommScope} etc.). Fault finding, and rectifying cabling and other issues.Cable Management tidying, decommissioning and removal. Installation of most types of cabling containment types such as basket, tray, tube and trunking, plastic and steel. Survey, Design, install and maintain Wi-Fi using the Fluke Air Magnet program. I have created Custom Reports with this program using Adobe Pro PDF editor. I have built, (Racked & Stacked) cabled/patched & maintained racks with switches, servers, firewalls, secret data encryption systems for monitoring satellites for the UK Space, Defence & National Security and the European Space Agency (Telespazio in Italy). I have also built and maintained networks for companies like the IBM, HP, CSC, MOD, CGI, BAE Systems, Lloyds Group, NHS, Shell, Metropolitan Constabulary, Boots and others through different subcontracting Companies.

I was Maintaining, Installing and Programming Telephony PBX Systems including Avaya’s IP Office Telephone System and have a Panasonic PBX Qualification. Have some programming and installing knowledge of VoIP, digital PBX systems.

Although now installing data outlets in the various buildings throughout Portsmouth University, I also installed hundreds of meters of multicore and fibre optic cables for their huge Campus Area Network (CAN) in their own ductings throughout the city.

I was installing telephone/Centrex lines & Basic/Primary Rate ISDN lines for cable business customers. This was on behalf of NTL Business based in Reading which covered a diamond shape area from Oxford, Brighton, Salisbury & St. Albans. On behalf of Telewest Business, I was installing in the Bristol & Gloucester areas.
