Beginning my career in Application Support in the events management space rekindled long held passions for technological design and creation. From my teenage use of MS-BASIC to create text based adventures and simulations on old repurposed monochrome IBM business machines to my early college days stepping out into web design and development, my desire to build and tinker has been a part of me for almost as long as I can remember. I began my career in the event management software industry as a case triage and dispatcher and quickly moved into a full support then senior support position. During that time, I took the opportunity to brush up on my somewhat rusty HTML and CSS skills, increase my knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery, and begin development with PHP and MySQL to further my grasp underlying principles behind application behavior. I now am the primary point of escalation and consultation for issues regarding design, customization, post integrations, and API functionalities for our platform. One of my keystone projects has been the development and implementation of a custom solutions workflow. The project handles, alerts, and tracks requests for application behavior modifications, custom site designs and workflows, and client specific functionality. This tracking and approval process worked to both streamline the request process and provide additional revenue from custom projects and builds.I am continuing to blaze the path forward, advance my current skill set, and reach out to those technologies that will provide exciting ways to imagine, build, and create. I am eager to uncover more new ideas and processes as I delve deeper into the development side of the industry. Creativity and collaboration will make this world a wondrous place.
