About Jason Summers
Searching for an entry level job or an internship as a materials scientist, materials engineer, or a technical drafter. Ever since I was in elementary school, I wanted to invent a revolutionary technology. At a young age, I devised an outline to reduce plastic waste and created a presentation on various types of batteries, illustrating that science and engineering were the forefront of my academic career. I am a hands-on learner, so I chose to capitalize on my opportunities in high school. Throughout my high school career, I was a member of the following organizations: • I joined SkillsUSA in 2017, and I was promoted to President for my senior year in 2019. I competed in technical drafting for all of my years with the club. I was awarded “Best of Show” at the Texas state conference for my technical drafting job exhibits in 2017 and 2018. My submissions were a hydraulic jack and a toy car that I modeled using dial calipers. Because of my accomplishments, I mentored other members. • In 2018, I became a member of Technology Student Association TEAMS (Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science). At the state level, my team competed in instant design challenges, essay competitions, and engineering comprehension tests. In 2018 and 2019, our team advanced to nationals. • I was a member of the hardware/design team for FRC Robotics Club. We designed and analyzed a CAD model of our robot to examine our complex mechanisms before building them out of physical materials. In 2019, our team competed at the FIRST Robotics Worlds Championship in the FRC division. While in these organizations, I applied and improved upon my core talents: • Precision • Leadership • Improvisation • Cooperativeness Despite being swamped by extracurricular activities, I still found academic success, earning rank 6 out of 473 in my competitive class. Now in college, I am pursuing my passion for science through undergraduate research to enrich my education and gain hands-on experience.
Listed skills include Mathematics, Leadership, Aluminum Alloys, Chemistry, and 15 others.
