Jason Tuazon-McCheyne is a social entrepreneur and currently the CEO of a national health promotion charity, The Equality Project®, which he created in 2016 to effect positive change for the LGBTIQA+ community. The aim of the organisation is to bring together LGBTIQA+ people and their allies across the social justice movement to advocate for a better, more just, and fairer society for all. The Equality Project® runs Australia's national LGBTIQA+ conference and produces the Australian LGBTIQA+ Policy Guide.Jason has 25+ years’ of experience leading advocacy and change in the Diversity and Inclusion space and has a commitment to life-long learning to support this work. He has completed tertiary studies in teaching, psychology, business management, and theology, and has been a business manager, researcher, educator, counselor, secondary school teacher and marriage celebrant.Jason is a bridge builder. He listens, collaborates, connects and shares. Where necessary, he leads from the front, speaking publicly, engaging with media, and challenging governments or institutions. More often than not – especially in recent years – Jason has led from the back, supporting people experiencing significant disadvantage, including people in rural and regional areas, people with a lived-experience of disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and multi-faith and multi-cultural communities.Jason’s particular strengths as a leader lie in his capacity to bring people together – often people who might not actually want to be in the room together – and to generate practical, sustainable solutions to the problems facing the LGBTIQA+ community.“People don't buy what you do; they buy why you do it. And what you do simply proves what you believe” - Simon Sinek
