I am proficient in Quality and assurance, Project engineering, Logistical coordination and Planning. Throughout my rotation on Wellsites I undertook the following tasks in the previously mentioned aspects. Tasks include logistics support and logistics Co-ordinator, planning/scheduling deliveries, Compiling QA dossiers for submission to the client, QA (MDR Dossier compilation and submission, ITR – Inspection Test Reports, ITP – Inspection Test Plan), HSE (JHA - Job Hazard Analysis, SWMS – Safe Work Method Statements, CMS – Construction Method Statement), sub-contractor coordination, sub-contractor payment approvals, producing technical queries, spool and structural steel drafting, project organisation, daily/weekly project reporting, NHVR (National Heavy Vehicle Regulation) Custodian, Nitrogen leak test coordination and test pack generation, Construction coordination, additional scope coordinator and pre- commissioning and commissioning activities.

During my time, I was allocated a few specific tasks.I headed the job to produce a safety switch for a plarad gun to be used on-site. This was carried out in conjunction with theHand Safety Committee to produce a tool that would be saferto use on-site. This included meetings with Berg Engineering Gladstone, various committees, and many other mechanical engineers on-site.I conducted an audit on the Authority to Operate Procedures conducted throughout 2014. This required me to accompany the Process Safety Specialist to confer with people in different areas of the plan, most being superintendents and specialists.Finally, I was also tasked with developing a Process Safety Document Map, which would allow new-starters at Rio Tinto Alcan Yarwun to gain a better understanding on the importance of Process Safety in the refinery.I gained a firm understanding of the each stage of the Bayer Process, as well as completing paperwork and engineering calculations on excel.My placement with Rio Tinto helped me to gain many vital skills towards my development as a professional engineer. These included the high importance of on-site safety, working cooperatively within a team environment (alongside many different engineering disciplines and trades people), and an overall better understanding of exactly what a mechanical engineer’s role is in the mining industry.
