The adjudication process is where a prisoner is charged with breaking a rule or regulation and the governor or independent adjudicator will have to work through the facts and see if they are guilty or not of the offence; they will then be given an appropriate punishment award that meets the charge.• Oct' 13 - Sep' 14 - Residential Officer - I was a member of a team on a residential unit. We were responsible for the day to day running of the wing under supervision of the senior officer. Duties included unlocking/locking up of prisoners, personal officer work (working with prisoners to help with their sentence plans and day to day activities), ensuring prisoners engage in the regime and attend their daily workplaces. We worked closely with the security department acting on intelligence that they received; carrying out cell searches and also working jointly with the police to search visitors and cars coming on to the prison grounds. My role was to announce new Laptop (ThinkPad) and Desktop (ThinkCentre) products by uploading them to an application called 'Database' which is a part of the IBM PC Essentials Suite. I updated information received from Worldwide (HQ in the U.S.) and marketed it ready for the customer base in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

During this role I worked on a technical helpdesk and gave technical support to customers who had technical issues with their long distance phone card terminals and Verifone e-Top up machines. I also prepared new machines to go out to customers by preloading the correct software on to the terminals. The company helped with the design and configuration of Vodafone's e-Top up software and I was also involved with the testing on some of the elements of the software.
