As the Director of Facilities and Sustainability at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens I worked to advance sustainable ideals, maintain and pursue safe, healthy and sustainable operating management practices while leveraging the benefits of naturalizing the built environment and preserving Phipps's historic glass houses. Was responsible for systems operations, sustainability initiatives, maintenance, strategic capital assessments and project management for 20 buildings and glass conservatories on the 15 acre campus. -Managed the commissioning and now operating of the Center for Sustainable Landscapes. The CSL is a net positive water and energy building that generates its own energy, captures its own water for reuse, treats its own sanitary waste, and creates healthy, productive, inspiring spaces for its occupants and visitors. From 2010 to 2015 I managed and pooled resources to facilitate the Living Building Challenge Full Petal Certification that was awarded in March of 2015, Net Zero Energy Building Certification and WELL Building Challenge Platinum Certification in 2014, the LEED Platinum and the Sustainable SITES Initiative 4 Star certifications in 2013. This project is the first and only to achieve all five certifications simultaneously. We continue to measure and monitor the energy, water, air quality, and storm water management green infrastructure systems to highlight actual performance of this project and advocate for healthier more resilient models, systems, and policies that are in harmony with the natural environment. -Managed and facilitated the LEED EBOM Platinum Certification of the first Production Greenhouse Facility in the world.

-Created protocol documents for a multinational company to guide the corporate social responsibility department in generating their annual sustainability report that incorporates multiple sustainability reporting frameworks.-Wrote a white paper to educate and inform small to medium size businesses about investing in renewable energy credits.-Explored and performed extensive research on the Global Reporting Initiative and the IFC Performance Standards.

Pre-Construction Services:-Interfaced with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project design and financial feasibility.-Coordinated designers and engineers on the project design development.-Analyzed project budgets and recommended cost savings ideas and constructability solutions for clients.-Responsible for the completion of conceptual budgets and pre-construction proposals for multiple projects and clients ranging from $60 million to $2 million.Operations:-Responsible for coordinating the completion of the MEP systems, elevator extension, and a vertical expansion on an existing nine story structure.-Managed multiple stakeholders to solve existing conditions conflicts to maintain project schedules.-Solved difficult operational situations and motivated project teams to complete fast-paced and demanding projects while coordinating with all stakeholders on project progress and schedule.
