Jason Wright has more than 40 years’ experience in nonprofit administration. He currently serves as the executive director of The History Center (Linn County Historical Society), where he successfully completed a $4 million capital campaign that completely rehabilitated an 1898 mansion into the new base of operations for the institution. This campaign also added $1 million to the organization’s endowment, and was completed in 13 months. Mr. Wright has completely changed the mission delivery model for The History Center, including a sustainable business plan. This has generated nine cash-positive years in a row, and the endowment has increased from $500k to $2.8 million.His career includes eight years as the operations director of the Omaha Symphony, operations director of the Grant Park Music Festival (Chicago), executive director of the Amarillo (Texas) Symphony and executive director of the Cedar Rapids (Iowa) Symphony. At the latter institution, Mr. Wright successfully completed a lagging capital campaign raising over $3.5 million to create a Symphony Center. He served as the vice president for development of the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library for seven years, overseeing its "Rebuilding the Future" capital campaign that raised $27 million towards a $25 million goal.Mr. Wright received his Certified Fund Raising Professional (CFRE) credentials in 2012. He has taught fund raising essentials for the Iowa State University Extension Nonprofit Management Academy, served as a guest lecturer at the University of Iowa’s Nonprofit Certificate program, teaching strategic planning and has been a guest presenter for the Wisconsin Historical Society's annual conference.Mr. Wright received his bachelors of music (music business major) degree from DePauw University.
