During the internship as part of the external audit team, was assigned to many industry leaders and medium businesses, attended daily meetings with the audit team to communicate efficiently.Used technology such as auditing tools, special sample selection programs and excel extensively to perform duties for engagements.Attended all events hosted including networking events, buddy lunch, partner discussion session and after work drink to connect with other interns, graduates and senior management. Had personal conversations with senior partners and management director to gather business insights.Faced with tight deadlines and fast-paced working environment from day one.Learnt fast and performed the duties up to accounting standards and beyond expectations. Including payables & expenses testing, unrecorded liabilities search, FX testing, cash confirmation and bank reconciliation. I was a member of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) team under the Financial Advisory division of PwC based in the Brisbane office. During the internship, I interacted substantially with my teammates, senior management, and other vacationers of the Financial Advisory Division to learn their background and experiences. I attended all events hosted including client lunches, team discussions and social events to make connections with clients, partners, and recent graduates to strengthen my network.Under a combined effort, my team was the winner of the inner firm “Project Impact” competition against 5 other teams of vacationers where we presented a potential solution to Australian homelessness. I was personally responsible of answering many client inquiries from a diverse range of industries in regards to GST treatment of their transactions and unique situations. I was also responsible for preparing an important research paper and a relevant PowerPoint presentation for my partner in charge on the topic of GST treatment on property and land of which he will give a presentation on in 2023. At the same time, I was also asked to prepare another research paper for my director on the topic of GST treatments on enterprises and businesses. Both research papers and presentation were completed before deadline and in extraordinary quality.

After advancing through initial qualifying rounds, competed and won the Queensland Regional Final of EY Tax Consulting Challenge. Accepted an all expenses paid trip to EY Sydney Headquarters to compete at the Oceania Final representing Queensland. Engaged with other finalists, prepared and presented to a panel of tax professionals about my viewpoints of current tax issues and attended the awards dinner with senior managers.
