Senior software engineer with over a decade of experience bringing products and features to market for the Roku platform, and highly specialized in video playback, Ad and analytics library integrations and coordination, debugging and optimization. The dance between multiple 3rd party libraries sending outbound data while also fielding playback requirements can get highly complex when dealing with low performance devices and unknown network conditions, all while still aiming to provide seamless playback that replicates the traditional linear TV experience. I have been lucky to work on these types of problems across multiple large media properties on the Roku platform.I come from a generation before the internet, when TV was the way we consumed most of the media in all of our homes. So now, I love that I am able to create new ways in which we can interact with what we're seeing on our televisions... the future of television is interactive and intelligent. We can build a world of interactivity to give users abilities to interact with their content to reveal character or plot information, purchase items they see on TV in real time, or interact with 3rd party applications (opening up a world of possibilities for creators, developers, and consumers). Ideas like these create new definitions of what it means to "watch TV", and drive me to push the boundaries of what is possible across all of the OTT platforms. I truly believe that these new experiences, features, and interactions are only limited by our creativity, and our abilities to bridge the gaps between smart TVs, AI/ML, and eCommerce.
