About Jason Alba

In a job search? You have to check out www.JobSearchProgram.com. Right now. Seriously, it's that good!I am passionate about helping people find fulfillment in their career. I have been a product manager, software developer, entrepreneur, online educator, professional speaker, author, strategist, leader, and follower. In 2006 I came up with the idea of a CRM for job seekers. At the time, this was a revolutionary idea, especially for job seekers. We continue to iterate and improve the user experience through a variety of enhancements. As a Pluralsight author with 36 courses I have been able to influence how technologists think about soft skills. I am passionate about the power you get when you marry improved soft skills with hard/technical skills, and what that can do for your career.I joined Snowfly as an investor in 2019 and have been enamored with their mission of helping organizations improve culture. Snowfly's solutions include employee recognition (and rewards), employee engagement, and voice and text analytics... all of which have a major gamification component. I care about job seekers finding a great job. I care about organizations finding great candidates. I care about HR and leaders creating a better place to work. And I care about personal empowerment.

www.JobSearchProgram.com In February of 2019 I was at a conference and a resume writer told me that when his clients asked if he did coaching he would say "No, but you need to get on JibberJobber." I was appreciative and flattered, but I didn't see how JibberJobber would provide coaching. And this planted the seed for what would become the Job Search Program. The Job Search Program is a six week program where you listen to my voice and instruction every day for six weeks (weekends are optional). With permission I use the framework of a business growth coach I admire, and invite you to do three tasks every day. These tasks are specifically designed to get you closer to your job, definitely not to fill your time or make you feel busy or productive. I have outlined three tasks, also called High Value Activities, for each of the 42 days in this program. When you get to the end, if you haven't landed, then keep working the program. You'll have the tools, training, and habit of doing three High Value Activities each day. At the end of each day there is an accountability question: did you do the three things today? Yes or No is the answer. There are a number of principles this program is based on, which you learn about in the first day, in a 9 minute recording. My goal is to give you a simple, pleasant, and doable experience. You should see that in the web and mobile designs, as well as the conciseness of the recordings, and the simplicity of the accountability. My goal is not to have you become a job search expert, studying through books and posts and articles, learning all the ins and outs and qualifying to be a coach or career expert. You want, and need, your job, not tomes of knowledge! Let's focus on what you need to focus on, get into interviews, and land your next job!Learn more at www.JobSearchProgram.com.

Jibberjobber.Com - Online Job Search Organizer Helping Pros In Over 100 Countries Own Their Career!

I am the creator and senior product manager of JibberJobber.com. I got the idea for JibberJobber during my job search in early 2006. I was completely frustrated with my homemade job search spreadsheet, and knew there must be a better way. That better way became JibberJobber. This is my personal story of "necessity is the mother of invention."Most job seekers use either a spiral notebook or a spreadsheet to manage and organize the complexities of a job search. Neither tool is sufficient, and the more you network, or apply, the worse the tool becomes. I knew I needed something web-based, to give me reports and allow me to get emails of action item reminders. I found a team to help me put JibberJobber together and, as they say, the rest is history.I believe everyone is a job seeker, whether they think they are or not. JibberJobber is your tool, to help you organize and manage your personal and professional relationships. If you are in a job search, use it to keep track of "which resume you send to who at what company for what job, and when do you need to follow-up."JibberJobber is a follow-up tool. Keith Ferrazzi says that if you want to be better than 95% of your competition, all you need to do is follow-up. JibberJobber helps you do that.JibberJobber helps you: ► Manage the relationships in your career ► Track where you apply ► Log your elevator pitches and answers to interview questions ► Follow-up with your contacts ► ... and much moreNetwork is the key to our career management, whether we are extroverts or introverts. JibberJobber is a networking tool that is on par with expensive, industrial level CRMs (Customer Relationship Management software, like salesforce.com) It is your personal relationship manager, and it goes with you for the rest of your career.Learn more on a live webinar: http://www.jibberjobber.com/blog/free-webinar

I'M On Linkedin - Now What???

In the early days of LinkedIn there was a rush and urgency to get an account, but no one really knew what to do when they got there. What was all the hype about? More important, what do you do to get value out of it?I wrote I'm on LinkedIn - Now What???, now in the fourth edition, to answer those questions. This is not a technical how-does-every-link-on-the-page-work manual. This is a practical guide to help you optimize your experience with one of the most important professional tools available. I commonly see problems with two areas of LinkedIn. The first problem is the Profile is just too weak. It is either too short, it might look like a dry, boring resume, or it doesn't convey the right information about you. I want you to have a better LinkedIn Profile so (1) you are found, and (2) when someone finds you, the message you give them compels them to want to know more. The second problem I see a lot is that the proactive strategy needs help. Why are you on LinkedIn? Is it just to be found, or are you looking for professional contacts? If you want more professional contacts, how are you reaching out to them? What are you saying? What tools are you using to communicate to them? Don't waste your time on LinkedIn just waiting for others to find and approach you.My blog complements the LinkedIn book - check it out here: http://www.ImOnLinkedInNowWhat.com In addition to the blog and book, I regularly do webinars for associations, universities, companies, job clubs, etc. I incorporate my passion as a job seeker (once a job seeker, always a job seeker), and a business owner, and my training in personal branding, to give a holistic approach to optimizing LinkedIn.(hint: for bullet points in your Profile, simply copy/paste in your own Profile: ◊ ♦ ☆ ★ ► ◄ ↔ ♫ │ ▌ ☛ ☞ ✓ ~ ✏ ✻ ❋ ✉ ✆ ᴥ ➤ ☑ ⇨ 🔥 (Don't go overboard! Use sparingly, and do it with class)

51 Alternatives To A Real Job

During my presentations on career management and LinkedIn I would mention I was working on a book collecting stories and inspiration from people across the United States. The stories were from people who decided to empower themselves by making money, whether a few hundred dollars or a few thousand dollars, outside of the traditional job or career path. After each presentation, the people who stayed around to talk to me had only one question: "When is that book coming out?" They didn't ask follow-up questions to my presentation. These people were hungry for ideas from people like them who had decided to work towards financial independence. They wanted "permission" to step outside of the normal idea of what a job was and earn money on the side, or to completely replace their regular income with their own business. 51 Alternatives to a Real Job is my third book, and I started to write it to help people become more financially independent. Actually, wrote it to give people HOPE and INSPIRATION. In my job search I found myself hopeless, and it was a miserable place. Combine a bad job search strategy with the idea that you were working really hard just to get a job that you might not love, and it wouldn't provide you any security (so you might be looking again in a few years), and it was not fun. When I got HOPE, everything changed. Everything. Through the stories and experiences of others that I share in this book, I hope that you can get your own glimmer of HOPE back. Who knows, maybe you'll start your own Alternative that takes you out of the rat race forever.Read the introduction at www.51Alternatives.com. Available in paperback and on the Kindle.

Program Manager

Draper, Utah, Us

As program manager I was tasked with carrying out the vision of the BambooHR Academy, which is a Thought Leadership program designed for HR professionals. My background developing online learning experiences with JibberJobber and Pluralsight, as well as professional speaking and my books and webinars have made me uniquely qualified to create the Academy. My entrepreneurial background with JibberJobber and my "get it done" attitude and track record is what attracted BambooHR to me.In my short time at BambooHR we created almost a dozen courses, and created the platform (user experience) for customers to access the courses. In contrast to my Pluralsight and JibberJobber courses, I've worked with multiple teams to create these courses, including subject matter experts, writers, designers, and the video team. Working on disparate projects with different teams is where I thrive.I have been a student of company culture for many years, and working at BambooHR has been a great opportunity to dive deeper into culture. Bamboo prides themselves on having a great culture, and I've been able to learn why, and what makes a great culture at a high tech startup that is experiencing significant growth. The seven BambooHR values, which I see in action every day, are: Do The Right ThingLead From Where You AreMake It CountEnjoy Quality Of LifeGrow From Good To GreatBe OpenAssume The Best
