I am a Seattle attorney who has devoted my law practice to representing individuals and businesses who have been victimized and exploited by others. I am most widely known for my leadership and work in representing survivors of childhood sexual abuse, including people with claims against the Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts, the Mormon Church, and other youth-serving organizations. In 2018, the work of our legal team led to federal authorities seizing and shutting-down Backpage.com, which at the time was the largest source of child sex-trafficking in the country. I primarily practice in state and federal trial court, but I have obtained favorable decisions from appellate courts around the country. My work has been featured in dozens of publications, and I am often asked to speak and lecture on cutting edge aspects of the law, particularly with regard to child sexual abuse. I was raised in Salem, Oregon, but moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington Honors College. After graduating with distinction, I enrolled in the Seattle University School of Law, where I graduated second in my class, earned top honors in ten of my law school courses, and was twice elected president of the student body.
