I am officer of the university managing between $3.5 to $5.3m in budgets and projects annually. In the role of AVP, I provide the overall organizational leadership, policy, strategic planning, operational and budgetary planning and administration, project oversight, and visioning for technology initiatives aligned with the university’s mission for the Information Technology Services Department. ITS has five units comprised of approximately 25 full time staff and 25 student employees:- Learning and Applied Innovation Center - combines all workgroups and concerns regarding academic technology. This includes the domains of classroom, lab, and learning space technology; instructional design; interactive technology; faculty, student, and staff technological and instruction design training and workshops; and advanced media services- Help Desk - single support organization for all academic, office, and student requests and incidents- Desktop Engineering - architects and engineers computing (operating environment, authentication, applications, etc.) in classrooms, labs, and open lab areas as well as for faculty and staff office and personal productivity needs. Includes Windows, Mac OS, and Mac iOS enterprise administration- Desktop Support - provides all university hardware and onsite support and consultation for classrooms, labs, and open lab systems as well as faculty and staff office and personal productivity systems- Voice & Collaboration Services - engineers, administers, and supports all of the university's enterprise telecommunication needs

- Leadership and project management for existing, new, and emerging telecommunications and emergency technologies;- Direction on strategic as well as operational priorities;- Lead functional and project-based teams for the following technologies: VoIP telecommunications, unified communications and smartphone mobile solutions, VoIP voice recording, advanced mobile and desktop conferencing, card access and privilege control systems, integrated video surveillance system, CATV emergency alert system and other campus emergency notification systems, and enterprise CATV;- Mentor the department’s technical staff and provide professional development coaching;- Lead $100,000 to $500,000 upgrade and new technology projects;- Lead outreach and other efforts for better cross-discipline relationships across the university;- Provide senior level advice on integrative elements of technology including directory services, security, advanced networking, VoIP, and web services;- Establish departmental and user requirements and meet training needs.
