Not new to development, but never having worked for a theatre company, I relied on my team of four colleagues to teach me the ropes. Jason continues to be my excellent teacher while maintaining a very challenging and diverse portfolio. Jason’s title, Development Associate, in no way clarifies his department responsibilities which I quickly learned were many and varied. His primary responsibilities - data base management, annual fund, gift processing and generating reports – are accomplished timely and with accuracy. Jason composes excellent fundraising letters and communicates - with skill and tact, both orally and in writing – with board members, donors, development team members and CPH colleagues. In addition to invoicing donors for pledges made, Jason keeps donor records clean and updated, ensures that gift recognition is appropriate and accurate and donor benefits, earned and promised, are received. During our last fiscal year, Jason and another development colleague combined forces to build our donor base via a giving day initiative. After much research and detailed planning, making a special effort to involve our marketing colleagues in the plans, The Curtain Up! Challenge was successful by all measures. Jason is also a key player on every development committee, providing accurate minutes and technology back-up. His active participation in the planning of our annual gala is especially prized by lay committee members and development colleagues.
