I am a tax partner in BDO’s Thunder Bay office, with over 18 years of professional experience providing taxation services to owner-managed businesses and a number of First Nation businesses and individuals.I provide tax planning and structuring advice to clients in a wide range of industries. I have also successfully assisted a number of First Nation clients (Tribal Councils, First Nations and First Nations owned businesses) with establishing tax efficient business structures that incorporate governance and management principles. I also coordinates U.S. and international-related taxation matters for the Thunder Bay office, drawing on the 12 years of experience in international tax matters I gained when working with BDO UK.I am the co-chair of BDO’s Aboriginal specialist group and was responsible for editing BDO’s publication ‘First Nations and the Canadian Tax Environment.’ I have also presented at seminars on various topics related to First Nations tax and tax planning matters.
