I've instructed courses Introduction to business and Cross-Cultural Management.

The objective of the course is to introduce students to the Canadian business landscape and entrepreneurship in Montreal, Quebec, and the rest of Canada. I bring real life entrepreneurial examples to class from my own experiences running Dumornay Delis, the company behind the peanut butter brand, dD Manba. The course objectives focus on the following topics: • Starting a business in Canada;• Creating a business plan;• Applying business management concepts;• Using effective marketing and sales strategies; • Seeking investment and financing for start-ups;• Solving real-life business cases.• Understanding the Canadian business landscape.

Founded in 2015, ​Manba was developed by Jason Delis and Haïtian-born, Stanley Dumornay, while on a volunteer trip to Haïti for humanitarian work. During their trip, Dumornay introduced traditional Haïtian peanut butter to Delis, otherwise known to locals as “manba”. For Delis, it was love at first bite, where he was immediately struck by the unique flavor that manba offers. It was not long after their return home that the pair decided to launch their very own spicy peanut butter in Quebec. Originally, Manba mainly catered to local Haitian communities in Montreal, however, with time, the brand grew in popularity to customers of all different communities, ethnicities, and backgrounds.As the first Haitian-inspired peanut butter to have been introduced to the Canadian market, Manba has quickly become the go-to reference in spicy peanut butter, across Canada. Today, Manba is available for purchase in 150+ local fine food and specialty stores across the province of Quebec & Ontario, as well as on their e-commerce website - ​www.manba.ca

A Consumer Packaged Goods accelerator founded by Arlene Dickinson, Manba graduated from Cohort III and was the only business selected from Quebec. The experience led to a deal with nationwide organics and natural foods distributor, UNFI, which has brought Manba to Western Canada. Most importantly, a lifetime network of entrepreneurs and mentors was developed during the program.

Trusted as the sole employee in Quebec to represent Square. Responsibilities included:Relationship Management: developing key partnerships with C2MTL, International Startup festival, Canadiens’ Kids Foundation, The Fashion & Design show, Salons des Metiers d’Arts, to name a few.Sales: To date, on boarded 400+ small & medium sized businesses in verticals such as professional services, retail, foundations/charities, contractors, food/beverage, and health/beauty.Local Marketing: Demo products and services at key industry events and conferences in Quebec and Ontario.Client Support: in-person and phone assistance to current and potential clients about services, products, and trouble-shooting tips.Networking: attending 70+ trade shows, conferences, and networking events generating leads, partnerships, and business opportunities.

Senior Client Representative (2012-2013) Provided Pension legislation support to over 40 pension and insurance fund clients. Facilitated communications between investment managers, consultants and clients. Global Custody Reporting Officer/Cash Operations Administrator (2008-2012)Analyzed financial data and produced global custody financial reports to over 100 pension and insurance fund clients.Service Representative - Claim's Department (2009) Provided solutions to clients on insurance benefits, products; resolved client disputes daily.

Content Marketer: Established NCV brand and content for the website. Developed and produced unique packaging materials for albums such as floppy disks and bubble wrap sleeves. Designer: Created one-sheets for artists, conceived album covers, posters, event flyers, and promotional materials such as stickers, buttons, and business cards.Project Manager: Oversaw a dozen album releases (from artist recruitment, to album conceptualization and distribution). Produced the NCV radio show, Damage, on CJLO 1690 AM, creating playlists and commentary for on air discussions. Event Planner: Organized over 100 NCV events around Montreal that highlighted new emerging artists and DJs, and that involved entertainment such as dance-offs and breakdance competitions. DJ: Performed up until 2014 at numerous Montreal institutions: le SAT, Metropolis, Cabaret, Bily Kun, Plan B, le Parking, and others.
