I am a well-traveled and culturally attuned special operations combat veteran with over 24 years of military service. During my journey of service, I have been fortunate to have traveled all over the globe, from central Europe to the Middle East to East and Southeast Asia. Like many of my peers, some of those travels placed me in harm's way as I traveled to Iraq and Afghanistan. Although I witnessed the ugly side of any conflict, I have also seen the beauty of faraway lands and the incredible diversity of cultures. As such, I welcome diversity of thought. We are stronger together than we are as individuals. I focus on what we can accomplish in the future, so I'll tell stories, outline ideas, or give examples that can help us visualize what is possible.I enjoy getting to know my teammates and ensuring they know I care about them and what inspires them. It is crucial that my team feels they can seek my advice because they value my experience and knowledge, and they know that I value theirs. I am a leader, and I develop future leaders. I challenge them to seek out more than what stands before them. As I ask them to challenge themselves, I seek out my own challenges and solve problems. I enjoy talking about all the things we can create or accomplish and finding the strengths and qualities in each of us to make that a reality.I embrace opportunities to be exposed to new ideas and want my team to do so as well.
