Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan is a franchised office of Junior Achievement USA. JASEM has been serving K-12 students in this region since 1949, nearly 70 years! With 20 programs in the areas of entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work-readiness JASEM proudly serves over 50,000 students annually from throughout the Southeast Michigan region. More than 50% of participants are from the city of Detroit. Junior Achievement's purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

Grow Detroit’s Young Talent (GDYT) is a $12M citywide training and employment program for young adults between the ages of 14 and 24. The program seeks to provide over 8,000 youth with summer employment opportunities in partnership with Metro Detroit corporations, non-profit organizations, municipal departments, local businesses and the philanthropic community. The strategic goals of GDYT are to: Ensure young adults have meaningful summer work experiences that create pathways to future opportunities / Connect young adults to training providers and employers that can support their career goals / Introduce employers to the next generation of Detroit’s workforce / Align Detroit’s youth workforce development programs with Detroit’s 5 High-Growth, High-Demand industries: Healthcare, Information Technology, Construction/Skilled Trades, Manufacturing, Retail/Hospitality/Entertainment.GDYT is a department of the Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation (DESC), a Michigan WORKS! Agency.

Focus: HOPE is a Detroit-based, non-denominational, non-profit organization whose aim is to overcome racism, poverty and injustice by providing education, senior supplemental food and workforce training for the Detroit community.Focus: HOPE’s service delivery models influences 50,000 people annually through the following functional areas: o Career (aka Workforce Development & Education): With a record of accomplishment working with the most vulnerable and disenfranchised members of the Detroit/Southeast Michigan community we implement and provide access to programs designed to increase work readiness, pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships in demanding career fields. o Food: In partnership with federal and state agencies, we provide 43,000 low-income seniors monthly food packages to support independence, healthy living and basic needs. The program also provides an infrastructure for health screenings, income support, tax advisory services, utilities assistance for seniors and the community at large.o Community (aka HOPE Village Initiative (HVI)): In addition to providing vital early childhood education, we provide youth programs, financial literacy, neighborhood safety, place making and blight cleanup for the 100 blocks surrounding the Oakman Campus.

DAPCEP is a $3Million dollar non-profit organization that provides out-of-school-time and in-school STEM educational programming to Detroit area youth. In partnership with eight Michigan Universities, the non-profit sector and its corporate partners, this Michigan asset provides a necessary link to post secondary education and motivation to pursue STEM fields to over 4,000 students annually. During his tenure as DAPCEP Executive Director, Mr. Lee has applied engineering process and strategic thinking to the organization’s infrastructure and educational programming. He is responsible for organizational management, personnel and sustainability. Under his leadership, the program has increased its fiscal foundation, expanded its portfolio of educational opportunities for young people, and improved organizational structure.
