Focus: HOPE is a Detroit-based, non-denominational, non-profit organization whose aim is to overcome racism, poverty and injustice by providing education, senior supplemental food and workforce training for the Detroit community.Focus: HOPE’s service delivery models influences 50,000 people annually through the following functional areas: o Career (aka Workforce Development & Education): With a record of accomplishment working with the most vulnerable and disenfranchised members of the Detroit/Southeast Michigan community we implement and provide access to programs designed to increase work readiness, pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships in demanding career fields. o Food: In partnership with federal and state agencies, we provide 43,000 low-income seniors monthly food packages to support independence, healthy living and basic needs. The program also provides an infrastructure for health screenings, income support, tax advisory services, utilities assistance for seniors and the community at large.o Community (aka HOPE Village Initiative (HVI)): In addition to providing vital early childhood education, we provide youth programs, financial literacy, neighborhood safety, place making and blight cleanup for the 100 blocks surrounding the Oakman Campus.
