Manage National Conventional underwriting for new correspondent loan platform.Direct and provide leadership, support and guidance to a team of underwriters, processors and support staff to include driving productivity, performance planning, goal setting, staff development, quality, and customer satisfaction. Manage all personnel matters to include interviewing, hiring, performance, counseling, training, and termination.• Interpret and implement underwriting guidelines for Correspondent loans. • Develop performance plans used to drive the achievement of monthly and annual goals. • Facilitate the training, mentoring and guidance of subordinates through goal-setting, delegation, training, counseling and performance management; ensure staff members are adequately trained in program guidelines, new programs and industry underwriting practices.• Underwrite and review submitted files to analyze for capacity, capital, character and condition; ensure loan requests meet program and product specifications or counteroffer to a different product and/or program when appropriate.• Partner with other departments in the design, development, and implementation of products, programs, initiatives, policies, procedures and guidelines.• Confer with processors, mortgage bankers, and National Sales Managers to answer general guideline interpretations and questions on specific loan files.• Act as primary contact regarding underwriting issues; provide input in the development of best practices.• Work closely with the operations director to evaluate performance and organizational trends.• Review closed loans to ensure underwriting compliance to agency, investor and company guidelines.• Continuously enhance processes and procedures to ensure application of best practices and maximize staff utilization.

Reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and applicable ratios(i.e. Debt ratios, loan-to-value). Evaluating & examining transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness. Preparing formal reports for review. Ensuring that documents are consistent and uphold to company and industry guidelines. Implementing fraud detection techniques, performing compliance reviews.
