I have been in the life-safety industry since 1996 where I began making fire sprinkler pipe hangers in our fabrication shop. From there, I began to fit pipe under a foreman and as I continued my education, I sought to design fire sprinkler systems. Being technically savvy as a "Xenial", I delved into the world of computing and became proficient in both Windows (PC's) and Apple (Mac's) hardware/software. I moved from designing fire sprinkler systems to designing fire alarm systems and began training as a fire alarm systems programmer. Tiring of design full-time, and earning a degree in organizational management, I decided to try my hand at project management. I began to oversee projects and small teams while learning more and more about the construction industry as a whole. Eventually, I was placed into a Team Lead role in 2009, where I headed up a brand new Security Division within the company. By the time I moved into a VP role in 2015, I had employed a successful team of knowledgable staff able to tackle almost any job with little direction. As the VP of operations, I looked into streamlining several of our processes and develop strong associations with technology placing our company as pioneers in our field. Five years later, I would be tasked with overseeing our 60-person company for almost 4 years as CEO before ownership decided to sell.
