With nearly 20 years experience directing the financial, accounting, human resources and office administration of Shea, Inc.I had no intention of working at an architecture and interior design firm when I graduated college. I also thought Champps was the best restaurant in Minnesota. All of that changed when I took an internship at Shea, Inc. As I immersed myself in learning the business from the inside out, I found myself working with some of the most unique, creative and talented individuals. Making the rounds interviewing at the Big 5 accounting firms as I neared graduation, I quickly realized the culture at Shea was the right fit for me. Turns out, I'm not your typical accountant. I'm an outgoing extrovert, highly engaged and energized. While I'm skilled in strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling and I like daily accounting and finance operations, I love my daily interactions with our entire staff. Building the firm, our teams and our people is my true passion. Unsurprisingly, when you focus your efforts on your people, the financial results follow. Over the past 10 years we've increased our revenues 87%, while doubling our profit margin. Today a special occasion dinner would be at Spoon & Stable; on a normal weekend you'll usually find me at one of the many restaurants we've designed, like Lat 14 or World Street Kitchen.
