I've been called a thought leader and an expert, but I've also been called bad names by trolls, so it balances out. My primary job has been developing what I believe to be bleeding edge strategies and creative concepts to bring influencer marketing efforts to life for brands. My unique perspective on influence vs. influencer focal points led me to join a Community Commerce Marketing software company in late 2022, so I shifted from working with brands and agencies directly on influence strategy, to helping build a company and platform that can scale a more efficient and salient approach to leveraging influence for one's marketing.In August of 2022, I was honored to be named one of the Top 30 U.S. Pioneers in Influencer Marketing by Talking Influence. Much of that, I believe, comes from my work, but also my thoughts and opinions sent from the stage or the podcast microphone to help shape our industry. Prior to the flip to B2B SaaS marketing, I served Cornett in Lexington, Ky., as its digital strategy lead. I was a part of the team that earned 2021 Ad Age Small Agency Gold Winner in the Southeast Region. My experiences there and at other agencies and brands have given me the opportunity to speak at conferences, write three books and be called all sorts of superlatives by Forbes, Business Week, Entrepreneur and others. I host Winfluence - The Influence Marketing Podcast, a weekly interview and opinion podcasts that dives deep into experts on influencer marketing and is a supplement to my latest book. At CIPIO.ai, I also host a weekly chat documenting the rise of Community Commerce Marketing (CCM) called "The Rise." I'm also on the Global Influencer Marketing Advisory Board, an industry directional organization founded by Audience2Media, a UK firm.Some people know me from founding SocialMediaExplorer.com, which at one point was one of the top marketing blogs in the world according to AdAge. I've been involved in some really cool projects over the years that have won awards and recognition. I'm particularly proud of helping form the strategy for Wonderopolis, an education effort by the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) which was called one of the top 50 websites in the world by Time Magazine in 2013. Projects I've been a part of have also won SAMMY Awards, Shorty Awards and dozens of regional ADDY Awards. Some people call me insightful. Some call me funny and engaging.
