As an intern, worked on the CHAMPS sub-orbital payload with several graduate students and professors. The CHAMPS rocket campaign is a pair of sounding rockets designed to investigate the charge and mass distribution of meteoritic smoke particles (MSPs).• Performed all mechanical design, CAD modeling and fabrication work for a variety of suborbital payload instruments. Ordered material and sensors while creating financial and manufacturing budgets for several instruments.• Advised team on mechanical, integration and fabrication issues.

As Project Manager, lead a team of 8 graduate student engineers to complete a novel turbojet engine design, controlled team scheduling and testing of existing turbojet hardware, and budgeting while still working as Lead Structural Engineer. Communicated with a 12-member industry panel of advisors.

As Lead Structural Engineer, wrote structural requirements, performed all CAD modeling (SolidWorks) and structural design for the GOJETT project. Used CosmosWorks to conduct a finite element analysis of the compressor blades, turbine blades, and a frequency analysis of the shaft rotor dynamics.

I graded hw, and ran lab sessions and advised students with lab work, and homework.

MADS (Multiple Aircraft Deployment System) was a senior design project at CU for the 2008-­‐ 2009 academic year. The project successfully designed, integrated and tested a system that deployed four Superfly R/C aircraft from a SIG Rascal 110 R/C aircraft autonomously. Used CosmosWorks to conduct a finite element analysis of the system’s fuselage, and verified model with a series of tests. As Lead Fabrication Engineer for the project, used CNC mills, MasterCAM and various tools to create complicated mechanical parts for the project. Created an assembly plan for the full system, involving multiple sub- systems and interface challenges.

Dr. Starkey and I worked on using various geometric equations to autogenerate hypersonic vehicle bodies. Coded in Fortran.

DANDE is a satellite project at the Colorado Space Grant Consortium that has won national awards and the University Nanosat 5 competition and as a result, a launch.• Designed a mass trim subsystem (MTS) that moves the CG and Moments of Inertia of the satellite post-­‐integration. • Created mass model for the satellite, MATLAB model for MTS effects on the satellite’s configuration.RocketSAT is an ongoing project at the CoSGC. The program has had multiple launches on suborbital rockets with NASA Wallops, and I was a part of two payloads, which were launched and recovered successfully.RocketSAT Project Manager • Led a team of engineers in designing and building sounding rocket payloads, and in designing a workshopcourse called RockON. Launched RocketSat III in June 2007. RocketSAT Structures Team Lead• Created structures design solutions for RocketSAT using SolidWorks and CosmosWorks. • Machined and Assembled payloads for launch. Launched Rocketsat II in May 2007.
