Westhoff Engineering Resources, Inc. is a Calgary-based engineering consultancy firm providing planning and engineering solutions for water resource management and development projects throughout Canada and overseas.With a key role in seasonal biological impact, wetland and riparian system assessments, I conducted field surveys and desktop studies, such as inventorying and mapping plants and soil, observing wildlife, analyzing habitats and sampling water. In addition, I monitored construction and re-vegetation for municipal infrastructure projects, such as riverbank stabilization and constructed wetlands. I carried out Erosion Sediment Control (ESC) and revegetation inspections. I also aided with regulatory applications and submissions for municipal, provincial and federal regulations and directives. As an integral team member, I assisted in reporting and fostered communication with both field representatives and supervisors.To assist with Biologic Impact Assessments, Bio Inventories and other regulatory applications associated with construction and development projects, I entered data into GIS applications and used Alberta Wetland Rapid Evaluation Tool (ABWRET-A) extensively.► While coordinating field projects, biological inventories, site information and data interpretation, I developed and conducted research to support environmental initiatives.► For riverbank stabilization and fish habitat compensation projects in the City of Calgary on the Elbow and Bow Rivers, I inspected construction and surveyed as-built structures.► Recognizing the safety risk of conducting field work without wearing high visibility vests in rural areas, I advised co-workers and led by example to induce routine vest use. Though vest wearing was not required by the company, I strengthened workplace safety by minimizing the possibility of workers being mistaken as trespassers or becoming separated from each other.

Serving Calgary and the surrounding area, I planned and facilitated recreational and therapeutic programming for youth, supplying support to youth facilities through direct supervision and guidance of specific individuals. In addition, I supervised court-mandated visits between children apprehended by the province and their parents at designated locations and reported observations for legal records.► Managing crisis situations with diplomacy, I anticipated and mitigated risks while promoting positive interactions.► I refined my leadership abilities through advocacy and liaising with other community groups and organizations.

Midwest Surveys is a professional land surveying firm, providing specialized geomatics services to the oil and gas industry.Overseeing and assigning activities to my field assistant, I surveyed construction and legal land boundaries in urban and remote areas and in the oilfield of northwest Alberta. The array of projects included pipeline, road allowance, facility boundaries, construction design layout and as-built surveys. I also documented clear, detailed field data for Alberta Land Surveyors.► To prevent costly returns to remote areas, I prioritized activities and resolved challenges to complete surveys in one trip. ► Boosting safety in the field, I recommended and gained approval for the standardization and of emergency/first aid kits and placement in visible areas in crew trucks.

Over the course of 8 years, I held multiple positions in the ski industry, including designing, marketing and operating multi-day, group ski and snowboard camps. I directed employees, optimized their performance and managed scheduling. Additionally, I established and maintained the rental fleet and managed recordkeeping. ► At Misery Mountain, I effectively boosted employee satisfaction and cut absenteeism, I integrated staff, who were normally not paid while waiting between ski classes, into general operations staff in order to provide fully paid shifts.► I honed solid public speaking and communication skills as a Ski and Snowboard Instructor.

HAZCO Environmental Services is a Canadian Environmental Services and Demolition Services Contractor. In 2012, HAZCO and all other divisions of CCS Corporation were rebranded into Tervita.In addition to collecting soil samples and operating equipment, I analyzed and reconstructed wooden crates used to transport soil. To minimize equipment damage and abusive operating techniques, I determined the proper operating parameters of each unit.

Northwest Alberta

Handling load/transport rigging for oilfield equipment in Chinchaga oilfield, I drove efficiency by conveying information to bed truck and picker truck operators about their surroundings.
