R And D Senior Manager - Geo Scada

Maidenhead, Gb

R&D Senior Manager - Geo Scada

R&D Manager - Nesai Tools

Fleet, England, United Kingdom

Software Development manager, responsible for an international development team specializing in the development and maintenance of common applications, tools and services that are used extensively throughout Keysight NES solutions portfolio. The team, formed following the merger of NES PRT Toolchain and NES CS Tools teams, has responsibility for all common NES tools and applications. The organization at the outset comprised 16 software engineers located across three international time zones and with an array of different technology disciplines, architectures, processes, delivery schedules and commitments. Following a comprehensive review, the team has been organized into four district operating areas:- Logging Tools- Licensing- Codecs- ToolchainWhilst the organization has been rationalized, a high degree of architectural and technological variance remains across the Tools solution portfolio. Highly complex solutions have deep and extensive dependencies on a wide range of frameworks and technologies including C, C++, C#, Python, WCF, COM, Angular, MFC etc.. to name a few, with many developed for cross platform usage ranging from Windows, MacOS, Linux and/or other OS variants. With the vast majority of our solutions developed with cross-product reuse in mind, our internal and external customer base is varied and extensive. This necessitates careful management, especially around addressing new feature and support requests. It is critical that, in evolving our solutions to address one customers requirement, we design and develop solutions that are beneficial to all, both in the immediate term and in the future. Managing customers expectations, ensuring requirements are met in a reusable and extensible way and managing the resulting complex cross product delivery schedules is therefore a significant part of this role.

During the 2020-2022 period, the team (along with our customers) had to accommodate many obstacles and challenges to operating practices and circumstantial impacts to requirements due to Covid pandemic.
