About Jason Richard

Jason has been with S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. since 1997. He held the position of financial manager from 2000 until 2009, when he was named the firm's chief financial officer. He was elected to the firm's board of directors in 2010 and elected as the firm's treasurer in 2011. A native of Livermore, Maine, Jason received the degree of bachelor of arts in English from the University of Maine before entering the Maine Business School at the University of Maine. There, he earned both a certificate of post graduate studies in business administration and the degree of master of business administration.Jason helped to found the Maine Engineering Promotion Council (MEPC), a non-profit corporation formed to promote the engineering profession, in 2000. He served as executive director of MEPC from its organization until 2010. He has also taken an active role in the Construction Financial Management Association's Maine Chapter, where he has served as its secretary, vice president and president. Jason has also served on the boards of the Hampden Water District (President), and two workers compensation trusts, the Maine Group Trust and Dirigo Re.As CFO and Treasurer at S. W. Cole, Jason is responsible for the firm's treasury functions (including cash management; corporate budgeting; banking; and financial analysis, forecasting and reporting); accounting; audit; and project financial management. In addition, he is responsible for the firm's risk management program, manages the administrative services division, helps lead its emerging leaders program and serves on the firm's investment committee. Jason has also led several of the firm's mergers and acquisitions efforts.
