Jason is a co-founder of Century, a highly collaborative digital creative studio, specializing in brand and product experiences. Through his work with Century, Jason combines traditional design expertise with a mastery of digital. He is as comfortable concepting and designing expressive, emotive brand pieces as he is solving complex digital problems. He has worked with some of the world’s most innovative companies — Tesla, Google, SpaceX and Apple to name a few — and has designed materials for some of the most iconic films ever made through his long-standing relationship with The Criterion Collection

Since 2007 Jason has worked as a freelance graphic designer for The Criterion Collection. Based in New York City, the Criterion Collection releases important classic and contemporary films. Jason designs cover art, packaging and menus for their Blu-Ray and DVD releases. He has designed materials for films by Roberto Rossellini, Jean-Luc Godard, Andrea Arnold, Jacques Demy, Wim Wenders, Martin Scorsese and many others. Jason also contributes to The Criterion Collection’s digital initiatives.

As an independent designer and consultant in NYC, Jason (under the Unender moniker) worked as a highly collaborative branding and digital product designer. Applying a nimble, specialized approach, he worked with teams of designers, strategists and engineers to craft inspired brands and digital experiences.

Jason leads teams of visual and interaction designers, developers and strategists to design complex digital products, platforms and connected spaces for some of the world’s most innovative companies. As a member of the Executive Leadership team, he contributes to all aspects of the studio’s direction, including new business, company positioning, recruiting and employee health and development. Jason provides ongoing mentorship to design staff and contributes hands-on design work for select projects. He is passionate about creating useful, inspiring work, and has a truly collaborative spirit.

As a Creative Director for Nurun SF, Jason contributed design and oversight on a variety of digital projects. During his time as CD, Jason worked on projects for Google, Tesla Motors, Sony, LeapFrog and many others. When Odopod was acquired by Nurun, Jason was point-person for the re-branding of Nurun and the redesign of nurun.com. When Nurun was later acquired by Publicis, the Nurun brand was deemed strong enough to remain in tact.

As Associate Creative Director for Odopod, Jason co-lead a team that included designers, developers, writers, producers and strategists. The team functioned autonomously within the studio. Jason provided career direction, mentoring and hiring for the team while also contributing hands on design work for clients like IWC, FItbit, EA, Tesla Motors and many others.

In January of 2008, Jason moved to San Francisco to work as a Senior Art Director for Odopod. He settled into a rhythm of quickly transitioning from project to project, establishing design directions, concepting approaches and driving executions. Clients included Chrome Bags, Microsoft Zune, Nvidia and others.

Jason taught third year digital design courses at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. His classes focused on a combination of thinking and making. Students learned to combine their instincts, taste and passion to create smart, functional and beautiful work. Topics range from designing touch interactions and responsive design to designing with empathy and artful expression.
