I have a hybrid role in my work at Parker Remick. My work is split between two major focuses. First, I am responsible for recruiting, mentoring and leading our client delivery team (including a mix of Principal Consultants, Associates, and Analysts). This team has grown to 14 today and continues to expand. It accounts for about half the firm's headcount. Second, I am responsible for leading assignments for the firm. I work almost exclusively with software technology companies to help them find C and V-level executives who specialize in some combination of engineering, product, data science and security. My work is primarily based on the US west coast, but I've worked both nationally and internationally.

I led MitchelLake's US Executive Search practice. My primary responsibility is building our MLE business and setting us up for long-term success through sustainable growth while still leading selected engagements. Globally, MLE has had success with innovative technology startups like Square, Etsy, Thumbtack and public companies like Facebook and Pandora. In the US, our focus is on helping startups find the leaders they need to build a great product, and be successful in market. While I was originally brought in to help bolster research between campaign seasons, my role quickly expanded into project management and candidate development. I began leading client engagements and project teams for the firm in 2012 and placed candidates at some of the world's most demanding technology companies (Amazon, Sony) and coolest startups (SoundCloud, Twilio).In addition to my core responsibilities, Parker Remick was a growing startup with diverse business needs and I wore many hats to help out. At different times I led operational aspects of the firm including: project management, database development, creating internal policies, internal hiring, financial monitoring and analysis, strategic planning, business development, sales strategy and execution, website development, communications, and most importantly...making Parker Remick more fun!

Co-founded a consulting firm that was primarily focused on planning based around high-speed rail in the Pacific Northwest. We created strategic partnerships with a number of organizations in the corridor between Vancouver, BC and Seattle, WA. My role was to represent the firm to numerous stakeholders across our area of operation, collect feedback, cultivate support amongst elected officials, businesses and community leaders, build policy documents. We played a small part in helping Washington State secure $800 million in federal High-Speed Intercity Passenger Rail funds.

Taught two sections of Comm 235 Exposition and Argumentation Winter and Spring quarters -- filling in for an unanticipated vacancy in the program. The course covered the theory and practice of principles of reasoned discourse as applied to public discussion of controversial issues. I helped develop students' ability to intelligently articulate their thoughts on controversial issues both verbally and in written forms. In addition to teaching I was responsible for developing my own curriculum -- matching the goals of the course with my style of teaching.I received a letter of recommendation from the chair of the department commending my work after finishing out my contract.

Managed and/or consulted on ten local and state campaigns in northwest Washington. We won some, lost some, and learned LOTS.My exact responsibilities varied by race but included: budget creation and management, volunteer coordination, training, and retention, developing compelling unpaid media campaigns, messaging, paid media strategy, recruiting and training of paid campaign staff, web development, building social media campaigns, extensive fundraising or fundraising support, building strategic partnerships within communities, garnering endorsements from community leaders, writing and executing strategic campaign plans.
