As a technical engineer, I dealt first-hand with customers needing technical support by providing both phone and web-based support. I would troubleshoot issues with customers and guide them to a resolution.

As the Planning Co-Chair for NC Open Pass (formerly CityCamp NC), I help organize a team of volunteers who create events that brings together government, business, neighborhood, non-profit, and academic communities. The planning committee is organized into sub-committees and part of my role is to track milestones and remove blockers for the teams to be successful.

The Pleasant Ridge & Ramsgate Community Watch organization is a small non-profit group, with over 100 members that meets four times a year, hosts an annual street clean-up project, an annual community wide yard sale, participates in National Night Out (tm) neighborhood watch awareness, and volunteers at Identity Theft awareness Free Shredding events.The Lineberry Alliance is a community organization that unites Neighborhood Associations along Lineberry Drive in Raleigh, NC. Our goals are to preserve & improve our neighborhoods, communicate information, share ideas, and help to resolve common issues across our neighborhoods. The Lineberry Alliance also provides guidance on City of Raleigh issues and City Council procedures through the collective wisdom of our communities.

I was elected to the Code for America National Advisory Council (NAC) for the brigade network during the inaugural year (2016). I was re-elected to a one-year term in 2018. As a member of the advisory council, we listen to the needs of the brigade network, provide feedback to Code for America staff, and form action teams to address the needs of the network to maintain a vibrant community.

As editor, I blog on topics of interest to me and my neighborhood. The Southwest Citizen Advisory Council (SWCAC) is a volunteer run community organization, one of 19 CACs throughout the City of Raleigh. The Raleigh CACs are the only advisory bodies of the City Council whose members are not appointed by the City Council. The CACs provide the means for citizens to be involved in the planning for the future of their community and its CAC gives the City another method to communicate with the community.
