I'm a Independent consultant and trainer focused on the Azure Data Platform. I spend most of my day helping clients solve business problems mostly in the Data and Advanced Analytics spaces. Sometimes this involves various and sundry cloud technologies including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Databricks, HDInsight and Azure SQL Database. Designed and built a asp.net MVC based cohort Administration tool. Currently working on the 2nd version of our C# 3.0 N-tier WPF application for Data Mapping. This product was projected to account for over $450,000 dollars in additional revenue for the company in its first year. This position required a large amount of troubleshooting and well-developed analytical skills, as well as a high degree of technical proficiency. Day-to-day activities included: Leading design sessions for new product features, authoring various related technical specifications and deployment documents, Provide BI SME and mentoring for team member’s, and feature implementation. The initial goal was to release the product for “External Beta” which was accomplished within 3 months despite numerous integration issues and a high amount of team turnover. Served as final internal escalation point for Development and Production DBA’s for Analysis Services and Data Warehouse SQL Server.Projects: Migrated existing data marts and ETL processes to SSIS and analysis services 2005. Responsibilities: Lead the planning and implementation of Frontier’s first data warehousing initiative. The warehouse was partially responsible for enabling the Revenue Management department to increase revenue 7% in spite of a downtown in industry and market conditions, as well as the rising cost of fuel.Responsible for gathering requirements, developing the ETL processes, and providing the reports on vital operational measures using Crystal Reports and a custom .Net web based portal. Performed primary administration of the development teams VSS server, production and development SQL Servers, and the Analysis Server (OLAP). Provided backup support for production and development web and application servers.Projects: Created a custom .Net based report portal using C# and Crystal Reports and ASP.net, created an internal advertising management application using C# and ASP.net, Created several administrative stored procedures and custom DTS tasks, using both the DTS designer and custom C# DTS applications, Made extensive use of SQL Server XML Capabilities to perform ETL Tasks. Managed several large 100GB+ databases, including the development of backup and optimization strategies. Optimized long running queries and resolved .Net DB connectivity issues. I also provided mentoring and technical advice to other departments and team members.
