I am a conservation biologist interested in figuring out how to produce step-changes that support biodiversity conservation, particularly on islands and especially in Hawaiʻi. A couple strategies that I am currently interested in include:1. Removing bottlenecks that prevent native ecosystem restoration projects from forming and scaling.2. Mainstreaming mālama ʻāina and the inherent link between native species and cultural identity.My 7+ years of multinational experience studying and conserving plants, birds, bats, and arthropods gives me confidence in my ability to guide ecosystem management, conduct research, manage joint projects, form constructive relationships, and adapt to new environments and cultural contexts. In my partnerships role at Terraformation, I help partners in the Asia-Pacific region develop their native reforestation and mixed agroforestry projects and pursue carbon credit financing.
