Leadership of a site reliability engineering team tasked with the management of service infrastructure (Rest.li, D2), presentation tier services (Play framework), i18n (internationalization) systems and horizontal initiatives (high impact, cross functional projects). Additionally, we work with engineering teams to help ensure high scalability and reliability of their services.Current projects include:- Lead ongoing efforts in efficient resource isolation, management and containerization (à la Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos, etc...)- Live performance testing of critical frontend and mid-tier systems

Leadership for a team of 15 including developers, project managers, QA analysts, systems engineers and helpdesk personnel.Lead dev strategy and implementation of Poptent sites, including the following:■ Definition of Poptent's technology roadmap.■ Increase product quality through the introduction of unit testing standards and automation, continuous integration, proper coding standards, and peer code review.■ Migration of previous SVN version control to a DVCS system (Mercurial) with proper branching (HG-Flow).■ Implementation of a disaster recovery plan with a highly available, virtualized environment.■ Introduction of an Agile Scrum PM process utilizing Jira Agile.■ Introduction of an organization-wide knowledge base utilizing Confluence.Secondarily, I act as a systems administrator, architect, and lead developer (filling a devops type role), project manager (Agile), and product owner.Technologies implemented and/or supported (in addition to those in my previous technical lead role) include:■ High availability data infrastructure using Galera MySQL and HAProxy.■ High availability and load balanced app infrastructure using Apache, PHP 5, and HAProxy.■ High availability and load balanced search infrastructure using Solr (SolrCloud) and Zookeeper.■ Fully config managed infrastructure using Ansible.■ Deployment automation using Ansible and (soon) Jenkins.■ Build management and testing using Jenkins.■ Centralized logging using ELK (Logstash, Kibana, Elasticsearch) and Redis.
