Jason JonMichael has more than two decades of specialized experience in transportation technology, assisting transportation agencies solve their most complex technology challenges. His areas of expertise include Connected and Autonomous Vehicle technology, intelligent transportation systems, communications, tolling, transit and enterprise information technology, IoT, and Smart Cities. Jason is leading HNTB’s efforts related to big data analytics and management in transportation, a key challenge for transportation agencies to unlock the value of connected and autonomous vehicles.Having started his career as a systems integrator and contractor, Jason brings valuable, field-proven construction and maintenance insight often overlooked by others, while his national technical expertise and experience includes a broad range of technology deployments, operation and management expertise and maintenance.Jason is a member of the ITS World Congress International Program Committee, the Cooperative Systems Subcommittee of ITS America’s Safety Forum, the Data and Information Systems Committee and the Construction Management-Information Technology committee of the Transportation Research Board.He is a recognized national expert in engineering technology, systems engineering, communications and systems integration. Having been responsible for the full life cycle of more than 60 transportation systems or other infrastructure command and control systems projects, JonMichael leverages his in-depth knowledge and experience to serve HNTB’s clients.JonMichael regularly provides insights and advice to industry-related non-profit boards,councils, committees and other organizations. Having lost his father to an avoidabletraffic accident in a construction zone in 1979, Jason has devoted his life to improvingtransportation safety through technology.

While working for Gardner Transportation Systems and later Siemens ITS, Jason was responsible for systems design and systems integration for a wide variety of infrastructure projects across the U.S.

ICC Corporation was a small-business professional engineering services firm specializing in Communications Design, Systems Engineering, and Systems Integration. As Vice President and Equity-Owner, Jason was responsible for operations, sales, customer service project and staff manager for a consulting engineering firm operating in the Southeast U.S., Texas, and Utah.
