Monetary had 45 people and was just launching its initial and disruptive payment product when they recruited me to own and build Product, Engineering, and Integrations. I reported to the CEO and led 15+product, software, Salesforce, DevOps and database architects, engineers, and managers. I developed multi-year product and engineering roadmaps and plans for staffing strategy, budgets with predictable estimates, and delivery plans along six product lines. I led process transformation including the transition to an Agile Scrum / DevOps hybrid and implemented CI/DC processes to manage multiple development environments and deployment models. We integrated two company acquisitions into Monetary’s cloud environment and more than 15 integrations with numerous POS systems. We designed and launched multiple new gateway integrations and a new Salesforce enabled partner, merchant and customer onboarding API, enabling new product features to accelerate underwriting and boarding.

Merchant e-Solutions (acquired by Brazil-based electronic leader Cielo in 2012) recruited me to lead the transformation of a new cross-functional Sales Engineering organization into the Software Engineering Organization. I was promoted to oversee Software Engineering, Architecture, Sales Operations, Data Analytics, and Reporting, QA Engineering, Program Management, and Release Management for all Product and Engineering product operations, software, and releases, with an $8M budget. Starting with an engineering team of 20+, I grew this organization to 70-75 employees. I transitioned the organization to Agile Scrum to accelerate and enable scalable delivery. When the headquarters moved from California to Atlanta, I recruited and built an all-new engineering leadership team, rearchitected release management and QA, implemented CI/DC, and cut release times from more than 6 weeks to 2 weeks while delivering 5x larger releases.

Promoted to Director of Product Architecture, to drive API normalization across the PayPal, Ebay, GSI Commerce and Magento stack focusing on capability mapping. Drove product development efforts focused on PayPal Here, new merchant boarding automation, the PayPal Invoicing API, and a range of other API integrations with Home Depot, Microsoft, Twillio and others. Named to the team leading the Agile transformation across PayPal and eBay, I wrote delivery models, educated Product and Engineering executives on the benefits and rollout processes, and contributed to the top-down transformation.

I originally came into PayPal as a technology resource and SME for Mobile, API and Platform, working across Sales, Biz Dev, and Engineering Architecture to help define the technical requirements of customers across the Americas. I was named to the Global Product team to ensure processes worked with API and workflow needs and features for global e-commerce and moved onto the unified Regional Product team. Projects included PayPal Here, PayPal Microsoft Invoicing and various regional enhancements to product boarding and SMS distribution systems.

I launched the iContact Developer Program with API portal, built and launched iContact Freemium that tripled the number of merchant activations. I also launched integrations with Salesforce and Market, and built and launched a new security system to monitor and identify potential bad actors.

CenturyLink recruited me to run engineering efforts and vendor management for customer-facing portals that supported more than two million users. I oversaw R&D and prototyping a unified CenturyLink portal during the Embarq and CenturyTel merger.

Lead and managed all onsite ad revenue initiatives and subscription services while working with executives all across the music industry. Lead various development projects with the specific goal of driving additional revenue and traffic into the site resulting eventually in FFR becoming on of the top 1000 sites online as defined by Alexa with over 1 million active users.Worked directly with a number of record labels from Universal, Sony BMG, Interscope and others as well as various industry partners from Konami and Interactive Corp to find ways to expand and drive even more consumer interest and engagement on the site.

In charge of product research, design and development of a full video based advertising system targeting the Scandinavian markets called Live Guide. With the release of Flash 6 and Flash Media Server, video within web sites was a new frontier. Ad campaigns supported included TDC, Orange Communications, and most importantly IBM Scandinavia which was a direct sales rep to user broadcast on request directly within a site, similar to LivePerson though with a direct video feed as well.
