I led the Integrations Platform team. When I joined, the team was full of talented engineers who were constantly firefighting. I introduced DevOps practices, metrics, and SLOs. Eventually, PagerDuty became a rare occurrence and we were deploying a dozen times per day. I helped expand many of these practices to the rest of the organization.While still operating and developing our existing platform (Rails/React/Resque/Kubernetes/Postrgres/MongoDB), I led the team in developing a new low-code platform that allowed our customers and professional services organization to create custom business workflows. (Elixir/Phoenix/LiveView SSR/Postgres/RabbitMQ).After only two years, I received company level recognition as a "Top Performer." This major award had before been reserved for employees with many more years tenure.Later, I transitioned to managing a team working in the primary Rails monolith. The team was under a lot of pressure and behind on deadlines. I coached my team on how to work with legacy code and we began to deliver frequently. I worked with Product and senior leadership to help re-establish trust and set reasonable expectations. We developed a Notifications Platform which delivered configurable notifications across a variety of channels. We also delivered a sophisticated, modern Task Management application.

Helped lead development and established our iOS architecture. Open sourced a Swift framework inspired by Elm called Reactor. After about a year and a half, I transitioned into a role as backend engineer working primarily with Rails and Node. I was involved with interviewing and selecting new engineers for hire.

As an instructor I taught the fundamental of iOS development to students taking evening courses at the boot camp. I was also contracted to develop more computer science inspired material to supplement the main curriculum.

Developed and designed educational apps. Performed significant UX research and redesigned v2 of the student iOS application. Open sourced a ReactiveCocoa based library called CanvasKit that served as an interface for the REST API. Helped establish the architecture for multiple apps. Helped write Rails APIs needed for the mobile apps. I was also frequently involved in the interviewing process.

Developed a special equipment training iPad app as part of a contract with the U.S. Army. The app presented lesson material and quizzes, and supported offline use.

Wrote a social network survey distribution tool. Helped work on a web-based report builder tool for survey results. Wrote an email scheduling system.

Wrote web-based tools for the BYU administration, including a real-time chat support system.
