In a previous role as a data analyst in the travel industry, much of the work for my role was manual, detail oriented and tedious. It was clear that our team could work more efficiently if we just had the right tools. I quickly took on the role of developer, building simple automation scripts to do as much as possible programmatically. That interest in seeing what a few efficient lines of code could accomplish grew continuously with every script I built. After a few years, I decided to take on a more development heavy role as a full-stack engineer and quickly took on the position of Senior DevOps Engineer at an IT Consulting firm, leading a team of engineers in building custom cloud backed solutions for internal teams and clients.
